About Elsie May and Bertha

Thank you for visiting Elsie May and Bertha my shop for all thingshandmade. Elsie May Hancock and Bertha Hodson were my two grandmothers and I've named my shop after them as a small homage to two important women in my life.

The first item I remember making was an embroidered place mat, made out of really large aida, in primary school, I've been making things ever since.

I use a lot of vintage fabric, buttons and lace, as well as new, so many of the items I make are unique and usually there's only one or two of each item made.

Enjoy

Louise

Calico Laine - my favourite place for fabrics, habadashery, wool, notions and craft essentials.

Decorative Fairs - the very best fairs for vintage fashion, antique textiles and accessories.
